Our specialist skill set enables us to support Architects in the planning stages of early construction projects.
A great example of this is how we recently assisted a local Architect practice in the early project planning stages.
Talking about the project Adam West, Director at DigiCollab said “We were contacted by a local Architecture practice who were looking for assistance in their early project planning stages. After discussions as to what their exact requirements were, we were engaged to carry out geo-referenced point cloud scanning and survey modelling services. This enabled us to build upon the traditional building surveys and topographical survey works.” He continued “Following this we produced a 3D BIM model for the commencement and development of RIBA Stage 2 design works, increasing the level of detail typically provided at the workstage.”
The project involved surveying and modelling some 12,000m2 gross floor area, which included an existing 5 level Multi-storey car park (MSCP) structure, an adjacent shopping centre façade and associated steelwork, public amenities and surrounding infrastructure.
The team were able to complete all geo-referenced point cloud scanning and survey modelling to provide the Architects practice with a 3D BIM model quickly and efficiently. The project was delivered on-time, in budget and to client satisfaction.
